One of the most common issues people who work from home is distraction. There are certain things you can't do anything about, such as the demands of children and pets, but you can at least make sure that when you sit down to work, you are comfortable in the surroundings of a Strachan Home Study.
More attention is now paid to desk ergonomics, with many companies checking new employees are sitting correctly to ensure maximum comfort and productivity, and you can do the same for yourself - after all, this could where you may spend most of your waking hours.
Your desk and chair are the most important items, so here at Strachan we make sure they are both at the right height to prevent any repetitive strain, and that there is plenty of space for all the things which come with a home office. An abundance of clutter can prove just as distracting as the neighbour's dog barking all day.
Once you have chosen your Strachan Home Office furniture, consider a chair that gives you as many positional options as possible, so that you are not stuck sitting in one position. Make sure that it will still be comfortable when you are typing as well as sitting back in it.
Lighting and temperature should also be considered. Face your screen away from the window if possible, and avoid any bright lights. You can always use a reading lamp to provide extra light elsewhere in your study if needed. Last, but far from least, set the temperature in the office room to between 20 and 24 degrees Celsius to avoid being too uncomfortably cold or warm, and you're ready to start work!
